The challenge

Direct air capture is a technically complex category, and Skytree’s technology had potential applications across several very different industries. The website needed to explain what the company did without overwhelming visitors or reducing the story to another broad climate claim.

The existing messaging had grown alongside the business. Important ideas were competing for attention, technical detail appeared before visitors had enough context, and the wider narrative was difficult to follow from page to page.

Skytree needed a story that could hold the whole website together, alongside copy that made every audience feel the technology was relevant to them.

Finding the story at the centre

I began by working through the company’s offer, audiences, technology, and ambitions to identify the strongest thread connecting them.

From there, I developed a sharper brand narrative and message hierarchy. The aim was to give the business one clear story to lead with, then introduce the technical and commercial detail in the order visitors needed it.

That foundation helped turn a complicated proposition into a more confident explanation of what Skytree does, why it matters, and where it fits.

Rewriting the website

Once the narrative was established, I carried it across a complete website rewrite. Each page needed to work individually while contributing to the same wider argument.

The copy balanced accessible explanations with enough substance for technically informed readers. It also gave different industries a clearer route into the offer without breaking the site into disconnected stories.

Working across the full website made it possible to control the flow of information from the first headline to the deeper product and application pages.

Creating room for complexity

Clear copy does not mean removing every technical detail. It means helping readers understand why the detail matters and giving it the right place in the story.

The new structure created space for Skytree’s expertise while making the main proposition easier to grasp. Visitors could understand the value quickly, then go deeper when they were ready.

The result

Skytree gained a stronger central narrative and a complete set of website copy built around it.

The finished site gave the business a clearer way to explain its technology, connect the offer to different audiences, and carry one consistent story across a growing climate-tech company.
